I love it! I love it when it gets dark early. I like getting up in the light.

I love the fact that getting dark early means the holidays are here. I love the fact that I can come home and relax without feeling like I have to go outside. I love eating dinner when it's dark outside.

I always dread the day in the spring when the clocks go forward.

Most of the US state of Arizona does not use Daylight Saving Time (DST). The exception is the Navajo Nation.

We have been through all this ad nauseam. The proposal was to put FL on DST year round. The effect of that would put Florida on Atlantic Standard Time in the fall and winter, while the rest of the Eastern US would be on Eastern Standard Time. Big Business does not want to deal with a 5th continental US time zone. It ain't happening. Stop already.

I could care less if they put us on Saudi Arabia time as long as they stopped switching it twice a years. The change is the problem, not the time zone. It's a lot easier to change your schedules ONCE, than to reset the damned clock twice a year forever.

I think this is another example of Gooberment "unintended Consequences" and now they cannot not make the switch. Can you imagine all the automatic clocks in cars, computers, alarm clocks and such that would continue to make the switch every figgin six months as they don't know where they are located! Maybe the phone companies could manage to keep the cell phone clocks set properly, but that is about it. Everything else would need gps chips embedded if they did not or at least new software.

I lived in Indiana in the dark ages before the electronics boom where there were all the clocks had to be changed by hand. It was great not having to change the clocks!

DST is an anachronism from the days before fluorescent (and LED) lighting when factories were lighted by walls of windows and dependent on sunlight. You can still see some of their crumbling ruins in the Northeast and Midwest. Other outdoor activity like farming simply used available light as a guide and ignored the clocks, so farmers were mostly opposed to DST because of its effect on their non-farm schedules.

DST has been long proven to save zero electricity and the switch causes absenteeism and accidents for a net economic minus.

It needs to go.

DST saved coal during WWI and WWII.

We could have switched to standard time and kept it like that without any involvement from the feds but because our law change had us switching to daylight savings time it takes Congress to approve it. Totally BS in my opinion but... ☹️
