The person who filed that case is a crackpot lawyer that failed to follow proper procedures. Even had ethics violations filed for screw ups. It went 9-0 because they looked it over and realized it was a cluster. This was like Rudy Giuliani and Lin Wood presenting the election was stolen argument at a home and garden store... all while Giuliani's hair was melting.

You would think other attorneys for the major gun groups would be filing lawsuits correctly enough to at least get a temporary order placed on it.

Basically the court said no, they will not take the case at this time.
Than really means, let it work it's way up through the lower courts, until it reaches us.
That is standard procedure.
Thus, it will just take time before New Yuck's law is declared unconstitutional.

Correct. The Supreme Court, for most issues, is supposed to be the final court of appeal. The institution would not work (to the extent it does) otherwise.
