FL Senate President says she's against Open Carry because the Sheriffs are.

Governor DeSantis wants Open Carry.



The Senate President said no.... the reason why is shocking.



Senate President Kathleen Passidomo stated that she's against Open Carry because she doesn't know anything and has the Florida Sheriffs tell her what to think. So, since they're against Open Carry, she's against Open Carry.

What you have is very dangerous because you have law enforcement, dictating to lawmakers, how laws should be written. Laws that directly affect the common citizen that are crafted in a way that empower law enforcement to harass/arrest the common citizen.

Mind you, the Sheriffs are now claiming they don't have an official stance on Open Carry, even though during a previous committee meeting they said they're against it.

Always have to keep up the pressure. It's a corollary to "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."

I support open carry.

I won't open carry.

My support of open carry simply is to remove the discretion aspect, so some shavetail wanting to "make a showing" to pacify an hysterical tourist because my shirt pulled up gives him/her/it a "reason" to arrest me.

Had a long conversation with a LEO last night who was petrified people would start open carrying.
Once I convinced him that the law abiding citizens are the only one that may open carry since it is illegal for felon criminals to even have a weapon much less ammo, they would still be concealing what they are carrying.

Additionally, law of averages says as soon as criminals realize they have no idea who is carrying since now there may be more people that might start carrying because of this , the end results of their situation might be different than what they were expecting

Not to sidetrack the thread but, I gotta say; watching and listening as DeSantis speaks, I imagine The Lefts’ heads have got to be exploding over the prospect of any Conservative like him (Noem, etc.) running on a National ticket.

And, after watching the Kavanaugh circus unfold minute-by-minute, I imagine DNC-contracted defilers in teams numbering the hundreds are likely working 24/7 to pre-coordinate all manner of “victims” to pop out of the shadows “ala-Christine Blasey Ford” and accuse any Conservative candidates as well spoken as DeSantis, Noem, Haley, etc. of all manner of horrid crimes against humanity.

Actually, as sad as it is to say it, after watching what several Conservative Supreme Court Justices are having to endure, I wouldn’t put assassination past the Looney Left in our country, today.


Now, back to the FL Senate President letting others influence her decision-making, to the point of being blinded.
