I still cant believe that fwc allowed this to happen in public. Yes, you can shoot iguanas with a pellet gun anywhere, literally. I was fishing the canals in broward last year and saw a guy get out of his car and start randomly shooting iguanas. Mind you it was right on a busy street. I personally wouldn't do this. With my luck it will ricochet and hit a car or some shit.

look into PCP rifles. They aren't cheap but man they are fun you can get a good set up with compressor for about 1500 ish dollars. it's really the only way to go. Suppressed and all you hear is the action
