Reviving this thread just for you, Deputydave as you were the first to bring the LCP Max to my attention.
Ruger is celebrating their 75th Anniversary of manufacturing guns and have introduced a few special runs commemorating this.
Just picked up a new LCP Max 75th Anniversary edition. Just wish they came with 2 mags.

Still running mine. Actually I gave my original Max to my son and bought another one for myself. He has Sig and Glock but wanted/needed something with the smallest footprint possible so I let him carry my Max for a week or so. He loved it so I gave it to him. That's his EDC now. And I liked it well enough to buy another one because it's just so comfortable to carry and not bad to shoot.

FYI, CDNN has LCP MAX mags at decent prices.
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a Single Star.

If I found a regular LCP at a good price I'd be tempted to pick it up just to have something that is even more deep carry. I bought one from a buddy a while back for $150. He bought it for his wife but she didn't like it. It had never been shot. I should have hung on to it. But then I can say the same thing about quite a number of guns I traded and sold over the years
