Worldwide, Disney operates more tables and slots than Caesar's and MGM combined. They'd give both nuts to have a casino in Florida.

"Open Carry will run off the tourists" is as old of a lie as "The streets will run red with blood if CC is allowed." Hell, it's almost as false as "Let's just try the tip and see how it feels."

Yes, it's hot AF here. Having to compromise health and comfort over safety is a dumb choice when both are possible if only freedom were legalized.
Disney does not run gambling operations. Even their cruises have no gambling on board. But the argument over open carry is indeed dumb.
Disney owns ESPN, which is part of the ESPN Bet venture (along with Penn Entertainment).

So Disney is more than a little bit pregnant on the gambling issue at this point. Among many, the spread of ubiquitous sports betting (through apps) is viewed as far more problematic socially than destination casinos, especially when it comes to the target demographic--young men.

But no one, much less Disney, has any chance of getting rid of the Seminole stranglehold over gambling in Florida any time soon. Decades of delay in legalizing casino gambling in Florida (which I remember well from the 70s) allowed the Seminoles to become too strong at this point. They drop all the right bags in all the right places. It would take epic change at the federal level to create conditions that would "open up" Florida.

I am in the supply side of the gaming business. Disney is a major player through its various entities, mostly in the far East. If they could open a casino on Disney property, they absolutely would. This would be the last piece of their stay on Disney property for everything until broke.

Nope.

They flock to all those places and take plenty of pictures of the "American Cowboys" carrying their guns. They're fascinated by it since they can't do it in their home countries.

Also, only 4% - 6% of tourists that visit FL are foreigners. The vast majority are Americans
Yep. Correct.

I've had foreigner tourists ask to have their picture taken with me in a few of the national parks over the years. They're not afraid. They're fascinated with the sight evidently and want to show their friends back home what the "wild west" looks like. 8-)

That's absolute bullshit.

Believe it or not, I actually concur with you here. I spent quite a bit of time visiting Guam. Whereas Hawaii is one of the main places Japanese tourists go for "vacation," they also go to Guam for similar reasons (and, like Hawaii, they own most of the land there (residential and commercial) and have priced the native Chamorrans out of it). And one of the things I noticed about Guam is the prevalence of local ranges there (both indoor and outdoor). There's a ton of them on the island. More than likely, it's due to the Military presence on the island (there are huge Naval and Air Force bases there). But, trust me, the Japanese tourists on Guam take advantage of those local ranges, primarily because guns are, generally, prohibited in Japan. It's the closest place they can go to be able to shoot. Now, that said, when I was there, OC was prohibited on Guam but may be permitted now. They're definitely "Shall Issue" now.

I'm well aware of the gun tourism in Guam with the Japanese. Heck five minutes from Disney off International Drive, you have Machine Gun America, a range that does MG rentals for tourists. I've spoken with the owners. Their two biggest groups of customers are Americans from NY/NJ and Foreigners. This place is a money printing machine. $200+ to run a mag through a few gun. Literally 30 seconds worth of ammo and the place makes $200+ a pop.

The machine gun tourism in Orlando is a knockoff of what they had in Vegas well before. All people from commie states and foreigners. It's like Americans in the Red Light district of Amsterdam, or the "coffeehouses" there back in the day. Had a GREAT trip there in 1998...<cough, cough>.
