Cleaning up the 'hood in Sarasota

Drugs are not harmful. Just ask the two old geezers they hired for commercials pushing to pass recreational.

It isn't if they're harmful or not. It is the simple issue that the war on drugs is an abject failure and has done nothing to stop drug abuse. But it has utterly gutted our civil rights.

The precedents used for the "war on drugs" were all relied upon (and expanded) after 9/11 to use for the "war on [Islamic] terrorism."

Now, in turn, THOSE expanded precedents are being used (and expanded upon once again) to use for the "war on domestic terrorism," i.e. the war on you and yours, honkey gun owner.

Some us tried to warn about this decades ago, but "conservatives" who obsessed over the issue (the late Antonin Scalia being one of the most notable) would not hear of it, They built and expanded the tool box that is being used to tear down every last vestige of the Bill of Rights.

Many on the Right are fine expanding the scope and scale of government as long as their side gets to wear the boots of oppression and does the curb stomping. Never do they ever think, "jeez, our side might lose an election in the near future and the very system we're creating can be turned against us."
