I have been a "registered Democrat" since 1972. Allows me to vote in the primaries. Haven't voted for a Democrat since "Jimmy" in 1976( perfect storm after the Nixon/Ford debacle). That change my outlook forever. Joe

The only defense of "democracy" is the observation from Churchill in 1947 that "it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." That's a pretty low bar.

However, our "democracy" has gotten so terrible and oppressive--and threatens to get much, much worse--that I can't blame those who advocate another attempt at one of the "other forms." That doesn't necessarily mean authoritarianism, monarchism, etc. I'd be most happy with the form government we had under the Articles of Confederation. Note, does that mean I want to recreate all the social forms of that era, just the form of government.

Well Trump is winning Florida regardless (and if he were in any real danger here in Florida, he'd already be doomed nationally), so you can vote for whomever without any fear of creating a Florida 2000 redux. So if there is some candidate out there you prefer to vote for to send some message (I think there are seven on the Florida ballot), you can do so. However, the Libertarian candidate is a total joke and actually worse than Harris (if that's possible), so that frequently used option in the past is unavailable as far as I am concerned. I may just vote on some of the Florida Constitutional amendments, and the Senate. No worries, Komrad Kameltoe has it locked in. The cheating, excuse me, exercise of Banana Republic democracy, has shown up already in the swing states. Usual methods, which include:

• More registered voters in certain key counties in swing states than total population in the county.
• Registered voters with addresses of strip clubs, libraries, police stations, stadiums, etc.
• InJustice Department suing counties trying to remove illegals from voter roles.
• Certain jurisdictions are already stating that they will take many days after the election to count their ballots - meaning to print up enough ballots to make sure KamelToe wins.
• The EPA gave $2 Billion of Inflation Reduction Act $ to Stacy Abrams org to get out the Kommie vote in GA. Yes, that is with a B. And that is only one of the fed agencies.
