Hernia operation MOnday

Anyone had a Hernia repaired/ If so what can expect in terms of healing. Mine will be open with mesh.

I had 2 done in 2016.
Piece of cake.
I only took Tylenol for pain.
I saved the Oxi they prescribed in the fridge which I needed for a kidney stone that got stuck in 2017.
Now that is real pain

The only thing that pissed me off was the surgeon would not do both at the same time.
He said I would be in too much pain for me.
IMO he wanted to be paid more for doing 2 separate procedures as the pain was not bad at all.

Biggest concern post op: Sneezing

I'll see your broken ribs, and raise you a fracture of both the T4 & T6 vertebrae and a broken pelvis. Breathing isn't recommended until 10 days in.

I was out of surgery at 10AM home by noon. Ice'd it al lot this afternoon. Had higher pain lever before it was fixed.

incision healed but has no swollen up. Saw doc yesterday he was happy go back to him on the 23rd. All of this has screwed up my bowel movements he said that too will pass.

Anesthesia and pain meds can really screw with that. Good luck, Ger!
