No need for CWP if you otherwise qualify
Excellent! Should be a sticky.
One thing I'd like to see him cover is the seizure of a firearm by the police after a self-defense situation. I'd be especially curious in a situation when in one's own home defending against a home invasion/forced entry. Do the police take the weapon and hold it in an evidence locker and mark it up? It's not really evidence other than checking the s/n to be sure it isn't stolen; that one has it when the police come after an incident is in itself evidence it was used. Again, in one's own home.

Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a Single Star.
I will always (well at least while I have all my faculties and can drive) have a CWP.
If I drive up to see my daughter in VA or my wife’s daughter in TN, I have reciprocity.
That’s big to me along with buying a gun without a waiting period.

I will always get my CWFL. I get why people want "permitless carry," But having the CWFL does things for me that permitless carry can't.
1) Reciprocity with other states (at least until they enact National Reciprocity..... "if" they do....);
2) Immediate FFL delivery (as opposed to a 3 day waiting period);
3) Being able to carry within 1000 ft. of a school zone (where most others cannot).
Yeah, it may cost like $50.00 every 5 yeas, but that's worth it.

Many people don’t realize this. When they’re told “see you in 5 days to pick up the gun”, they freak out & figure since they don’t need the CWP to carry, they don’t need it to buy. Most still have one, & pull it out, but some have let it expire, & go nuts that they have to wait. GARY
That's one of the main reasons I'll keep up my CWL.
Reciprocity can be a legit reason in some cases, but I use the requirement of a license in a state as an indicator of someplace I don't want to go. I'm retired, so there's very little "Have to" in my vocabulary.

I travel to Ohio to visit my granddaughters, so I just renewed mine. Was easier than ever.

Just renewed mine in '24. 1st 2 digits are "88" so if nothing else it shows "trust when armed in public" for almost 4 decades. Don't need it for buying guns, I ain't and if I do the pawn shop is walking distance from the house. Joe
Keep Today Fresh
Just looked at my license, first two numbers are 94.
89 here. GARY
