"State Sen. Ed Hooper, R-Clearwater, said the Parkland shooter could have been stopped if a teacher had a gun."
That's a blanket statement that's not guaranteed. Look at the actions of a trained force from BSO and how they failed to do anything. A teacher with a gun is not guaranteed to stop a shooter.
Also school boards have zero experience on who and who should not carry a gun. Most of these PHD or Piled High and Deep educators are in fact dumber than a stump when it comes to practicality. After all look at how bad a job school systems across the country are doing in educating students properly.
The common sense approach from these politicians continues to fail to produce anything that will work.
3 easy things to guarantee safety inside a building, one way in/out, metal detectors and a police officer over looking this entrance/exit. (Except for one way fire exits)
Outside the school building is pretty much impossible.
