Wonder4ful car. Convertible.
Best mad was a set of Corsa Sports.

Loved that car but as my back got worse it wasn't practical.

Now it's a 5.0 Mustang. Nowhere near as much fun.

Yeah, I would not consider a Vette as a daily driver - especially as I get older.
The 2013 60th Anniversary Edition GS is purely a "sunny day" car.

Also, planning to keep it bone stock as I spent a lot of $$ on my '03 C5 (under the hood) - kept exterior all stock, only tell tale signs of power mods were the Pod gauges and Borla catback. Sold it back in '12.

Initial reports on the C8 look interesting.

I'm not sure.
It's an awesome looking thing. Very exotic.
But how much?
Corvette has a certain price point for owners.

My Dad was a big time Corvette guy, beginning with the very first one, the 1953.
He had bought an sold so many there's no way to remember them all.
He even had the split window 1963.
Until Chevy dropped their excellent road racing light weight Gran Sport effort, that is.
Like many Corvette enthusiasts, he lost interest after that and switched to Porsche.
My one and only 'Vette was a 1965 convertible.
If I could afford it, the latest new one is a beauty.
A neighbor buys a new one every year.
Maybe he's related to my late Dad.

00' Vert and 02' Z06 here. C5 was the last of the "vettes" IMHO, frog eyes w/ shorter wheel base and the bat-mobile just doesn't do it for me.

When I was in Vietnam I told myself if I ever got back home that I was going to buy a Corvette.

Made it back in late 1968 and bought a brand new 1969 Corvette convertible.

I've owned a Corvette continuously since then with my current version being a 2004 convertible (of course).

I've got a photo somewhere that I superimposed to show me in a profile shot with the 1969 and the same shot with the 2004. Hopefully I can track it down.

I had a 69 I bought in 1988. It was an impulse buy...hadn’t done my homework and had corrosion at the bird cage. I was lucky to pass that lemon on.

I got a 14 Camaro SS with some mods.
Basically, a Vette with a rear, albeit, unusable back seat.

AD, thank you for your service!

I’m glad you made it back safely and were able to get that Vette.

Most of these stories end up bad...KIA.
Then there’s all the stories I’ve heard/read about folks getting incredible deals back then...,mostly parents or wives selling their loved ones’ prized possession because sadly, they lost their lives protecting our freedom.

Thxs again!
