Major reliability problems like cylinder not revolving.

Not surprised. This new Python is a Python in name only. It supposedly uses a new lockwork that is easier to make, require no custom fitting and more robust than the original lockwork...another words cheaper to make. I'll hold on to my 1976 Python.

Taurus has dramatically increased the quality of their products in the past year.
Colt saw the opening and decided to capitalize on it by filling the void left by Taurus.
Colt is now the new Taurus... at ten times the price...

Wow the video tells it all! Hopefully they get that corrected, it is a sexy looking revolver even though it doesn’t seem to function well!

Yeah, the 1911 was very unsuccesful.
Last time I checked the 1911 was a J.M. Browning design.
Not only is the 1911 not a Colt design, but all the major improvements to the platform have come from other manufacturers.
As far as semi-auto pistols go, 100 years of failing to improve Browning's original design is pretty much Colt's only claim to fame.
So let me state it again: After all Colt has never been able to come up with a single successful semi auto rifle or pistol design... EVER...
PS: Replace 1911 by AR-15, Browning by Stoner, 100 by 50 and pistol by rifle in the paragraph above and you get the rifle side of the story

This whole discussion is like talking about the Sears of today as if it is the same as the Sears of 75 years ago. A name on a door is meaningless.
