What was different in 1984?
I was in 5th grade, I remember gun racks in windows. I had a glass gun cabinet in my bedroom, my dad got me a new gun every year for my birthday from the time I was born. I was shooting Jr NRA matches, and turkey shoots, we would hunt deer and hog behind Sea World in Orlando. I would shoot dove and quail in the orange groves behind my house in Windermere.

If he was white, I'd want a black guy in the crowd like that one to back his ass up. Some folks need to move past skin pigment otherwise you will have allies that will be invisible to you and enemies that you will trust.
Somehow a group that is astute enough to figure out ALL gun owners are not X can't seem to figure out that also applies to race. I've got friends who I wish didn't vote for Obama and they wish I didn't vote for Trump, but if it ever gets serious none of that shit matters.
But how can you be a LIBERAL SOCIALIST and believe in the 2nd ADMENDMENT. Knowing they want to DISARM AMERICA.
He's what I'd call a BLUE COLLAR DEMOCRAT a dying breed. There is just no way I'd ever be friend with a SOCIALIST. Number one they'd never allow themselves to ever associate with a CONSERVATIVE Republican. They'd be harassed by everyone of their friends and you'd be their punching bag.
Happened to me once. I was a guess with a friend. Guns came up. Found out real quick they were liberals. I was attacked. My friend and I left, he apoligize. Thing is the pos that attacked along with his daughters.
He was on welfare for something stupid but it was not medical, one daughter was a butt ugly stripper and the other was a high school dropout and pregnant. I'm not kidding.
I asked him where the hell he met people like that. I was told we just want to stop by to see a friend while we were in Daytona. He say he met them during bike week. We over working over there for a week. This was many years ago. I could not imagine what it'd been like if that had happened today. It's a scary world now.
The fact that Political Party A seems to represent half of our rights and oppress others while Political Party B seems to represent the other half of our rights while suppressing others is no accident. If they keep us divided and fighting, their jobs and income remain secure.
If everyone in the US discovered we could agree on 90% of this stuff and it's only activists at the extremes keeping us "triggered" we'd realize we actually need a lot less government and all that money could be better spent and more responsibly managed.
But that will never happen so it will be us vs. them until the end. And while it's probably not a popular thing to say, Trump and Hillary have more in common with each other than with any of the people who voted for either of them. Obviously Trump more closely represented my views so I voted for him, but politicians say whatever keeps them in office, whatever results in more power and money.
Nobody is spending millions of dollars to become President if they don't believe they are going to cash out and then some on the back end. If we get very lucky, some of them manage to do some actual good with their time in office rather than just coming up with new crap we don't need but have to pay for.
Last guy I can remember who did some good was Reagan when he rolled back some of the worst parts of the 1968 Gun Control Act. You guys would lose your shit if you had to live under the rules in 1984.
