Blacks make up 17% of the State so we'll find out.
It wasn't blacks that elected obama twice, and it won't be blacks that put gillum in office.

Tector is right. This is no cake walk. The Koch brothers republican party in Florida would vote democrat in November just to stick it to Trump.

Gillum wants to make Florida just like Venezuela
I found an excellent gun control law we should all follow. It's called the Second Amendment.

I think DeSantis will win, as will Scott, but to act like it is already in the bag is crazy. Pure hubris. That is how astonishing upsets are made.

Yes. And incidentally, a big reason Trump won is that black (and other liberal turnout) was down in 2016 from the 2008 and 2012 elections.

Yup... they won't be making that mistake again. We can't either.

It was, first, the economic collapse that elected Obama, and second, the out of touch RINOs running against him. NOT THE SCENARIO IN FL 2018!

An update: Gillum won only because of a very high black turnout in 3 counties: Duval, Broward and Miami-Dade. This is not considered a recipe for winning Florida wide. Gillum only got 34.3%, 3% ahead of Graham. I'm sure the Dems are gonna do a song and dance about "Youth" and anti-Trump independent turnout in the general but they didn't demonstrate that in the primary and will be up against an anti-Gillum, anti-socialist, RKBA turnout fueled by Florida's excellent economy. For governor the total Dem vote was only 1.51 million vs 1.62 million for the GOP despite a supposed Dem registration advantage. Gillum only got 517,863 votes while DeSantis got a clear majority of 913,997 on his side.

It was in the metropolitan centers Gillum ended up cementing his lead, particularly Jacksonville's Duval County. But the clincher Tuesday night was the wide margin Gillum shored up against Graham in South Florida, especially in Broward County, where vote returns were announced late. He also swept Miami-Dade, despite former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine's regular claim on the trail he was the "only candidate from South Florida."
