why has there not been a new and upcoming ammo manufacturer the size of federal or remington to give them a run... there's been plenty of price scares and shortages in the last 10 years...

Because a large scale operation like that takes serious capital and as one interview I saw with a CCI exec said, after Trump got elected sales plummeted and those who ramped up spending and bought extra loading machines got stuck. Besides raw materials such as lead, there are no smelters in the US anymore, come from overseas and shipping and production around the world in in the toilet.

Ammo manufacturers are in normal production and won't ramp up and be caught again.

If you didn't buy it when it was cheap and plentiful, then do without or pay stupid prices from those that have it.

Ordered new appliances for the wife, delivery is maybe going to happen mid December, maybe.

I have a feeling that the world will wake up soon one day, realize the shit storm we are all in and hit the reset button.

This. And NOT ONLY THIS, but the current manufacturers that exist don't exist on manufacturing 9mm or .45acp or 5.56 alone.

They do runs of 9mm or 5.56 before reorganizing to sell higher-premium hunting calibers.

For a new manufacturer to come in alone with the massive physical and social capital it would require to run a successful ammo manufactuering business, and then ONLY produce 9mm ammo, would be something extremely hard to do.
