Cambodia 1975
Khmer Rouge, Tector?
Once again, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'd really hate to see my kids go through that. I used to have a particular nightmare for many years where I had to decide either to let my kids fall into their hands or...
Fortunately it's been quite awhile since I went through that.
Fwiw (not much), let me publish again (previously in another forum) a hint of where I come from.
In 1993 (?), I replaced my golf bag. While taking things out, I found deep within its confines a building plan...in Cyrillic. There were only three (3) possibilities as to why it was there. Namely:
1) I put it there and completely forgot about it;
2) It was planted;
3) The person who finally assembled the golf bag left it there.
Germany in the 1920's experienced many of the similarities we are now seeing in the USA.
Consider their march to socialism, immortality, homosexuality as in promoted not accepted but forced on the general population. The push for gun control (It was not Hitler that made control, he didn't have to the Wiemar Republic did that for him to get this, prevent the Communist and/or Nazis from taking over)
The pendulum swung way too far left until it swung back in a terrible way. Is that what we can expect?
Like so many that believe socialism will make things fair liberals simply do not see the reality in that it makes tyranny inevitable
I am nearing 75 and in the 70's I interviewed many holocaust survivors and people who were communist until they lost their freedom to the Soviets and got a taste of reality. Those same people constantly warned of the lie of socialism but hey they were dumb old people what could they know when compared to an American enlightened college educated liberal genius

So many immigrants from Socialist/Communist countries warn of what they are seeing happening here. These people are very familiar with it all.
Yep.

And I see them en masse whenever I go to Bass Pro. They know what's coming and are trying to be ready fir it.
All the "global war on terrorism" bullshit is being redirected home. You can't say you weren't warned....
And how Republicans fully supported the expansion of the state and granting it more surveillance powers. Never do Republican voters think "gee, that power might be used against me in the future."
We truly are a representative republic and we get the government we deserve since a good chunk of the people are dumber than a box of rocks.

Gun control in Germany is a bit complicated.
1. It was enacted by the government as a condition of the Treaty of Versailles. The Allied Powers can be partially blamed for Germany's gun control.
2. The government further loosened some gun control as the Weimar Republic continued.
3. The Nazis when they took power, modified the system in place and curtailed their political opponents from legally owning arms, while granting themselves exceptions.

There's a big chunk of dumb, yes. There is also a decent chunk of apathethic. And, of course, there is a very big chunk of Americans who cheerlead for domestic tyranny. We see it all over the Left right now, since they are running the show on the federal level.
