the 2 and the 3 are right next to each other on the keyboard, so you'd have to at lease understand how a mistake could happen.
as stated earlier lots of special buys come with reduced accessories
I doubt if you checked and only saw 2 mags at the store, you would still understand why it wasn't 3 no matter how long they explained it to ya. ...and thus taking more time away from their day, and my point earlier....
Id welcome a picketer, because after about a min Id either toss your ass out into traffic or get the hose out and make it rain on you ass ,all live on FB or IG too , while commentating/telling my side of the story.....
I do understand mistakes happen. Cutting & pasting, typing three instead of two, not knowing what they ordered, whatever. The problem is it isn't my mistake, and they want me to pay for it.
As for threatening to assault a customer, and recorded it no less... That is really an inappropriate response and sounds like a much more expensive endeavor.

naa, Ive got nothing to lose but my dignity, and I'm a man of principal, nobody is above an ass kickin
I hope you get it sorted out but its not worth all the stress, ask them 1 more time then write a bad review, go to social media etc, and send them the links...
also try and call the manufacturer directly and say that they shaved a mag off the top, most of the time they will just send you one

The drama is all over... At least in the store, here who knows.
Shop gave me a mag- It looks like they bought it and just gave it to me...
Because they made it right, I purchased 10 boxes of ammo they had on the counter... The boxes came out to about double of retail of the mag. I don't know their markup on ammo, but I imagine they are buying at prices I can buy online or better- they made back a good portion of the mag. The mag itself was about 3% the price of the initial deal- this wasn't a high point where a mag is significant to the overall.

Different shops have such wildly different policies and procedures. Despite being 25 miles away from me, I've dealt with Advanced Firearms in Margate almost exclusively for many years. They used to charge me $15 plus $5 BGC and $5 for each additional item. They open the box in front of you and you can see that they're not palming anything or "oops, it must have dropped before it got here..." I bought a Beretta M9A3 from them and went back a couple months later for something else. Owner says "Oh, glad you're back...you forgot your box here for the Beretta, so I've saved it for you." I was impressed.
Twice I tried a closer shop, once was Eagle in Delray and the other was Palm Beach Shooting Organization in Lantana. Eagle has a clever bait and switch (ish) policy where they tell you that xfers are cheap, but that's only if they don't sell that manufacturer in store. For example, Buy a Tokarev and it may be $20 + $5. Buy a Winchester M1 Carbine or a Walther PPK and they'll say "Oh, we sell Winchester and Walther products, so it's $30 each for transfer." The ONE time I did actually use them was for an 870 and a stripped Garand receiver. Dude writes up the 870 on the 4473 then hands me the Garand receiver and says "Here. This doesn't need to go on the 4473." "Uh, yeah it does." "No, it's not legally a firearm." As tempted as I was to just walk out of there with it, I no mess with the alphabet boys that couldn't be FBI, so I insisted that it was required to be on the 4473. I've never been back.
PBSO is a nice shop, no issues, cheap transfers. It was weird to have them hand me the shotgun I bought without a box or anything, even though it was clearly shipped in one. I'd go back if I needed to.
I was at Advanced last week and the Xfer prices are up to $25 plus $10 each additional, plus the $5. They told me that their in store sales are way down, as everyone buys online nowadays, and they need to keep the lights on. I'm AOK with it and will continue to go there. Customer service and integrity are key, and they have both.

Glad it was resolved. My take: The $8 background fee is reasonable, won't hold it against any shop.
If advertised with 3 mags...I expect 3. Period.
I've hung out for years in various shops throughout my life...in the land of the scam...Miami.
I've witnessed many employees pilfer items from transfers...From mags to back up sights to slings...etc.
It always becomes the customer's headache to call the online merchant trying to track down their missing item.
I've witnessed many employees, after purchasing a firearm from a walk in customer on behalf of the store (their employer), remove and pocket accessories the firearm was sold with. Scopes, cases, etc. Leaving the plain Jane firearm for the store to resale.
BTW: out the store

Check out this classic oblique justification of my prior post.
I take it back...Miami is not the land of the scam...all of FL is.
So Johnnie Q Shooter orders a Century AK ***with a FREE DRUM!! Damn...that's sweet.
Johnnie can't wait to pick up his new toy and load that drum! He'll be rocking amd rolling for sure.
Poor Johnnie though....the employees of the shop just ripped ol' Johnnie outta a drum.
See folks how it works...developed a relationship with a shop...you'll be less likely to be missing a drum.

And I’ve seen stores remove the “goodies” to sell separately after taking in a gun on trade. But what if Century advertises a gun with 3 mags, but the FFL buys the gun to stick in the store, & removes a mag. They don’t advertise how many mags are in the box. The customer see’s 2 mags, accepts the deal, goes home, & see’s Century’s ad. Can they complain to the store, since they inspected the gun at the store, & bought it from store inventory?

I would think not.
If the firearm (and whatever is/is not included) is property of the shop, they can do as they please with it.
If there's a promotion, lets say "buy one, get one free" on some crappy little Taurus pistol, and the SHOP purchases it, they are in no way obligated to give whoever purchases "pistol 1" a free "pistol 2".
Now if
I order it from (insert random vendor here), and
I ordered something similiar (again, we'll go BOGO Taurus for example) , I would certainly expect to be picking up
two pistols at the transfer dealer.
If a shop wants to take advantage of a promotional deal, whether it be BOGO, extra magazines, a free drum or whatever, thats on them. They use their money, it becomes their inventory, they can do as the please with it.

Let's pretend it was Guns R Us... (I'm assuming they don't exist, at least not in FL- if they do, it wasn't Guns R Us)
In my case I purchased from GunsRUs.com and picked up at a GunsRUs store. There was no transfer, no third party- The point may have been confused because I was complaining on the time it took to get it in, and the email saying it was fulfilled, which in their jargon I guess means ordered from the manufacturer. I'm not accusing anyone of pilfering a mag or doing anything dishonest. I believe the web guy messed up the posting and wrote out three in the description- twice, listed 3 in the specs portion lower down. They do normally come with three, but during the holiday the manufacturer had a 'BF package deal' that swapped out some accessories and dropped a mag to trim the price. I feel I was reasonable in wanting to cancel the sale or receive what I ordered. The shop decided it was better to get me a mag ($50 mag percentage-wise was very minor) than cancel the sale. They made it right, and I get it that it was a mistake and they ate the mag cost. I repaid them with buying ammo, plus I'm coming back in the future for additional purchases. Also, I'd feel comfortable steering friends and students there in the future.
