I dont know if it's insect bites or not, that's why I'm asking :? though you're the second person who suggested it today... someone else told me it could be spider bites... I dono :(
I agree spider or some insect bites will leave puss sacks like a pimple. You squeeze them a either clear bloody colored fuild can come out or a white puss. Unfortunately with fur you can't see. Some spider bites like that will leave a ring around bite. Kinda like a bullseye.

Are they healing ok ect just asking to make sure they are not recluse bites. Those spiders can be small about the size of a dime. But I've seen dogs with bites and am going with that. My neighbor had two labs. They pass recently  I really love those dogs. But one had thin fur and would get bitten often. Everytime they got a minor boo boo I'd work on them. The last one just passed. He was my buddy.

Did this just start. With rash I'd think it would be more dense and in more areas around body instead of just a few spread apart like that. Fireants can cause bad bites like that if it gets under fur especially the pimple look with white pus sack on top.

I do not think it's a rash.

Any changes in brand or type of food?

I switched from Science Diet to Blue Diamond and my dog had very similar reactions. Switched back to Science Diet Lamb and Rice and no problems.

Hello my Rottie years ago would get the same thing cost me $$ everytime. Until the third time the vet said to change her food to a lamb base food for her coat and flea and tic to help her out and it worked . Good luck .Dave

no, she's been on the same food for over a year; but about a week ago we switched to something much better, a brand called "the honest kitchen", it is dehydrate food that's human quality whatever that means. we add warm water and it's ready to go in minutes. or use the base version and mix in some chicken breast or other meat.

her skin improved several days after starting the antibiotic treatment...

Chlorhexidine shampoo works really well for preventing secondary infections as the raw spots heal.

So the antibiotic treatment will of course clear it up, but when you stop antibiotics it will probably come right back, and change in dog food is probably the root cause of the problem.

Just because you went to a better grade of dog food, doesn't mean YOUR dog can't be allergic to something in it. When you discontinue antibiotics IF it returns, try changing back to your old dog food and see if that clears up the problem.

Then you can try switching to a new "different" dog food if you want. Also research "chicken flavors" in dog food, they are usually a good suspect because everyone wants to give their dog a healthy chicken flavor dog food. Lamb and rice flavors are usually a safer alternative.
