Holy crap. $1350-$1750 for an airgun. To shoot lizards.

My father in law works at a golf course and hunts them every morning. He has over 250 kills as of this weekend. His newest gun cost 1500 bucks ( forget the brand it’s some high end European gun). He basically said he had several rifles that cost at least that sitting in the safe and this one he shoots daily. We took it to the range this weekend and he shot several groups at 100 yards that were under 1.5 inches. I believe it’s a .25. Longest kill shot is 135 yards on a iguana!

Iguana's eat bugs.

I'd rather do giant green lizards than giant brown roaches any day of the week. Let the Ig's run wild, they are also kinda cool.

I'll be heading out to Fish Eating Creek WMA sometime next week. It's one of the 22 WMA's that's open to iquana and Burmese python hunting 365 no permit.

Regarding what can be used to dispatch, this is off of their websight.

Methods that do not use an explosive charge to propel a projectile such as machetes, bows, crossbows, slingshots, air guns, pellet guns, and blow guns may be used on the 22 Commission-managed lands year round, without a permit.

I was there when they were getting thick in Broward. Parts of Hollywood were like Jurassic Park. This is hardly the first invasive species, but compared to Bufo toads, African snails and pythons they are to me the least bothersome.
