When the 19X first came out I didn't care for it all that much. But as time passed it grew on me until I finally bought one. And in fact, the 19X I have in the pic with the TLR-8 is the first and only Glock I've ever purchased new from a gun store. And that was only because that store had them for below-blue label pricing at the time. Very pleased with it. Picking up the spare was a nice bonus, particularly since it was new but on the used market.

Picked up a third 19X in a trade this morning. This one only had three mags shot through it. Debating on whether or not I want to carry one of them or my G19.5FS now that winter is here. Normally I EDC the P365 but right now I'd like to bump up the total capacity.

The first Glock that I ever shot was in 1985 while I was stationed in Lima, Peru. (This was before Glocks were imported for sale in the US, iirc.) I'd heard about them in circa 1984 and remembered learning of the famous "torture tests" but felt doubtful about the polymer frames. In Lima, a Peruvian military attache, who had just returned from his official station in Europe, let me fire the G17 at a military shooting range. I remember that I was astonished by the manageable, comfortable recoil and the accuracy. I bought my first Glock only in 1990, a G21 which was a great gun but too big for carry. Eventually I've ended up with a G19, a G30 and a G36, all Gen 3s. My favorite to this day, me being a .45 ACP shooter primarily, is the G36. In all of them I've only installed night sights, Talon grips and the grip insert. After I took this photo I also installed Pearce +0 mag extension for the G36, which I acquired back in 2008 The holster is a Tulster.

Well I decided to switch things up a bit and started EDCing my Glock 19.5FS instead of my Sig P365. Still very much like the Sig, just felt like a change. I used to carry a Gen 3 G19 years ago of-duty so it was like saying hello to an old friend. I have an Olight PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie on it as well.

Gave the G19.5FS to my son. He shot it at an Outlaw match and really enjoyed it. The 19X has become my favorite Glock.
Although I normally carry the P365 because it's so comfortable (and I shot it at an Outlaw match and it performed exceptionally well) I've also started to carry the 19X occasionally.

Picked up a blue label G45 last Thursday from Shark Coast Tactical in Sarasota. Shot it that evening at an Outlaw match in Ruskin. As expected, no malfunctions and it shot great.
As much as I like the 19X, and I do (I have three of them), I think I like the G45 even more. And since it will take all gen magazines (the 19X won't take gen 5 mags) it is functionally a bit better than the 19X. So I got a nice leather holster for it, broke it in and I've been carrying it the last few days. Reminds me of the first Glock I ever owned, a well-used Gen 2 G17 I carried back in the 90's.

Almost have my Glock 17 build where I want it- started out as a stripped police trade in Gen 3 G22 frame which I built up and added an Apex trigger and slapped on a Brownells slide with a S3F Solutions barrel. Frame work done by locally by DS Gunworks and cerakote also done by a friend. Dead Air Ghost M suppressor keeps it quiet. Needs a RMR sight and a light to finish it off!

How’s that S3F barrel working for you. One came with a G22 trade a few years back, 9mm conversion. Gold in color. Only used it once to verify function but it seemed fine.

No issues at all. Have run multiple suppressed and unsuppressed rounds down it with no malfunctions.Deputydave wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 1:04 amHow’s that S3F barrel working for you.
