OK, we currently have two threads on this subject, so I hate to start a third, but the problem is that those two threads each point to a different text.

So which is it? Or is it both (i.e. two amendments)? Or is one just part of the other?

I would note that the first one deals exclusively with semi-autos. It seems to have an inadvertent loophole for legit Class 3 owners. So you could have a (registered) M-16 but not an AR-15?

They're two different initiatives.

The first one (#19-01) is promoted by Do Something Florida and BAWN - Ban Assault Weapons Now - using the Parkland shooting as their rally cry. It was filed this year, and is the one receiving some apparent bipartisan support. While it is limited to semi-autos, it does not exempt rimfire or fixed magazine firearms, and so it would reclassify common plinking and hunting arms such as the Marlin Model 60 and Remington Nylon 66 as illegal "Assault Weapons." It does have a couple of flaws that could be exploited if it were to somehow be implemented, but those are best not discussed on public forums for now.

The second one (#18-03) is backed by Stop the Killing Now Committee, and is almost a year old. It's basically a gun-grabber's wet dream, eliminating the right of private citizens to keep & bear arms from the state constitution and replaces it with the creation of a police state. This one would almost certainly not pass constitutional scrutiny, and perhaps by design, in order to show how "reasonable" BAWN's initiative is. (See Miami_JBT's post in the second thread contending Stop the Killing Now is a shill group with no other purpose than performing a giant head fake.)
