Dick’s Sporting Goods Goes Full On Anti-2nd Amendment, Gets Kicked Where It Hurts
Since Dick’s Sporting Goods stopped selling AR-15s, they’ve gone full-blown anti-gun. They are working overtime to make sure that you lose your rights. Now, it looks like things are going very bad for the social justice chain.
After the Parkland shooting, left-wing advocates seemed to have a meltdown. Like always, they used a tragedy to push gun control. Instead of respecting the victims, they used them as props for politics. Naturally, they blamed gun owners and the NRA for the deaths. They never seem to blame the real culprits, you know, the actual killers.
Celebrities jumped on the bandwagon. Politicians and public figures denounced “assault weapons,†demanding a nationwide band. Yet when pressed for facts, most of these advocates don’t know the difference between a semi-automatic handgun and a bolt-action rifle — let alone what an “assault weapon†is.
A few companies decided to join the throng of un-American commies. Dick’s Sporting Good announced in February that they would no longer be selling “assault-style†weapons., meaning AR-15s. Although they look like military weapons, we all know AR-15s are semi-automatic. They function like many other rifles on the market. They are hardly “assault weapons†or “assault rifles†or “assault-style weapons.†Or whatever nonsense terms the left cooks up.
As you can imagine, customers were outraged that a large retail chain would do this (much like Walmart). Aren’t they in the business of making money? What will banning AR-15s from their stores accomplish? There are many other places to buy these rifles. Does Dick’s Sporting Goods hate money?
No, they were simply virtue signaling to impress liberals. Because you know how much money liberal city folks spend at outdoors stores.
Now, we’ve learned that Dick’s is doubling down on their anti-Second Amendment crusade. Manufacturers have had enough.
Several major gun manufacturers said they were severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods in response to the company’s February announcement it would no longer sell assault-style weapons due to the deadly Parkland school shooting…
“It has come to our attention that Dick’s Sporting Goods recently hired lobbyists on Capitol Hill to promote additional gun control,†Mossberg & Sons CEO Iver Mossberg wrote in a press release. “Make no mistake, Mossberg is a staunch supporter of the U.S. Constitution and our Second Amendment rights, and we fully disagree with Dick’s Sporting Goods’ recent anti-Second Amendment actions.â€
The Mossberg announcement came just one day after MKS Supply, which makes Hi-Point firearms, also announced it would pull out of Dick’s. Last week, gun manufacturer Springfield Armory said it was halting business with the sport’s supply company, too. [Source: Fox News]
Looks like Dick’s stock of firearms is going to get pretty light, soon enough. The store started this by banning the most popular firearm in America. Perhaps this will end when every major manufacturer pulls their guns from their selves. Dick’s is going to miss that inventory.
The lifeblood of a retail chain is having great merchandise. You can’t sell goods if you have no goods to sell. With so many firearm manufacturers pulling their stock from Dick’s, the retail chain is going to lose considerable money.
On top of that, the chain is facing two lawsuits, thanks to their imposed age limit. All on their own, they decided to restrict the sale of firearms to people 21 and older. Only a few states have passed age limits in recent months. Dick’s can’t legally deny business to customers.
Satisfying customers no longer matters to Dick’s. They’d rather side with the socialist left, who wants to punish Americans for enjoying their freedoms. Dick’s move to attack the Second Amendment will surely shoot them in the foot. In the end, they’ll be living up to their name.
