notifying NFA Branch that you are moving
When must the notification be made to ATF/NFA that your place of keeping nfa items is moving?
If moving them out of state, you have to submit a Form 5320.20 ("Form 20") notifying ATF of their new permanent location AND receive approval before they cross state lines. I don't know what the current processing time is, but I'd allow at least 30-60 days - but it shouldn't take that long. The instructions are printed on the Form, which can be downloaded at www.atf.gov.
If moving in-state, you can also use a Form 20 to notify ATF, but you don't need to receive your permission slip back before moving them - just do it promptly.
