I bought a canning rig a while back and fooled around with it some.
I canned some chili, some green beans and some boiled peanuts.
I set some chili back in the corner of the pantry and ate it 60 weeks later.
It tasted just like it did the day I made it!
I still have the setup, I should dig it out.

It's the most calorie dense AND longest lasting food for the storage space it takes up. I want to try pressure canning on my own some day, but for now I buy things like canned corned beef at Aldi and chicken breast at Sam's. They carried pulled pork at one point...
I volunteer to come and test the quality of your canning

Interesting information on canning food. My Aunt used to can food when I was a kid. As long as I can buy canned food I will. Check the expiration dates. In times without power you should have a manual can opener and a source of heat if you want hot food, The big thing is to be prepared. Good luck.
