Who's had cataract surgery. I had lasik back in 2003. My right eye is doing great. But my right eye I'm having problems with. Going to eye specialise next week. But I think I've got a cataract in the right eye. Either that or I need to lasik that eye again

I've had cataract surgery . Worked out well.

I took the single focal length lens, set for distance, some can drive and get around without glasses. Use cheap reading glasses for anything close.

Had cataract surgery about three months ago doing really well. Only use glasses for reading and computer work. Glad I did it. Colors are much more vibrant now and whites are whiter. Like Red I can drive lens free.

I've heard that said before. Actually I'm pretty excite about getting it fixed. It has really bothered me this past year or two. I notice light is brighter in left eye and it says focused.

They right eye seemed darker no as much light and harder to focus it. I feel eye strain alot in that eye. Guess I'll findout next week.

Took my dad to do his left eye and 3 weeks later his right eye about 4 months ago. He opted for the more expensive laser surgery as opposed to the traditional knife. It healed very nicely and he was able be almost normal a week after surgery. The State made him do it in order for him to keep his FL DL, as after 80+ you have to maintain proof of clear vision.

I had one eye done, was worried to no end. Turned out to be a piece of cake. Getting a tooth pulled is much worse.

I had cataract surgery 2+ years ago and they jacked my eyes up.....they talk about career ending injuries for sports this was my gunsmith career ending surgery ( by choice )

they pushed me into the different lenses 1 for distance and 1 for near vision in each eye, let me tell you they are guessing at the prescription based on your old vision pre-surgery and then adjusting for any astigmatism correction, they promised I wasn't gonna have to wear glasses, bull shit , I have 3 pairs now, reading, computer and distance....I cant read my phone without removing my glasses, I cant see the speedo on my bike(mc) while wearing my sunglasses, I have a hard time seeing the exit signs on the highway from far away and thats what the distance glasses was to correct for......

I suffer from extreme dry eye, I live with eye drops in my pocket, you'll have to buy the expensive no preservative ( no boric acid kind )

I have been back twice to have a protein film lasered back off of each eye, not sure why this keeps happening, but Insurance will only cover it once per year so you live with blurry vision for about 6 months till its time for them to cover it again.

I paid $ 5000 out of pocket, cause I wasn't old enough for medicare, medicaid or any of that BS

I went to St Lukes in the Villages, I researched the shit out of it before I went, I wanted a state of the art place with the newest and best equipment, what went wrong , who the hell knows , the place is a factory, they do almost 100 surgeries per day  , if you ask me that is WAY too many to not make a mistake.....I guess I was that days mistake......

back when I was 30 I wanted to get Lasik, so not to have to wear glasses, my dad always said, don't mess with your eyes, well the eye Dr said when the cataracts get bad enough you will have them done, at 49 I had them done......so at 51, Ive gotta live with this shit till I die, I guess

Some people can not tolerate mono vision (where one eye is set for distance and one set for reading). They asked my dad if he wanted it and I said no, he’ll wear reading glasses but I want him to not need corrective eyewear when driving.

My girlfriend had lasik 17 years ago and resulted in several years of perfect vision. Three years ago she complained that her distance was getting blurry in one eye. We went to see her doc and as it turns out she needed to correct changes in her non dominant eye and if she got lasik to fix her distance, she would lose her reading in that eye and would need reading glasses. They convinced her to get something called a Kamra inlay which is a little flat disk with a hole in the middle placed in the cornea centered over the iris. It acts like a pinhole camera lens, helping her focus not only distance but also close up.

Sounds great? No it was a nightmare for her as she also suffered from dry eye after surgery and needing crazy expensive drops ($1,100) per prescription which was a month supply for two eyes but she only needed it in one eye so it lasted longer. They put plugs in her drain duct to keep moisture but that caused blurriness from the build up of residue from the drops. She also had funky shadows and floaters in her vision and started getting ocular migraines. After 6 months she was ready to have the damn thing out of her eye but the doctor convinced her to keep it in to let her brain “adjust” to the change. I’d say it took 18 months before she stopped complaining about her eye. The dryness went away and so did the ocular migraines and floaters. The irony is she now needs reading glasses for her other eye, and if she could have a redo, she would have just stuck to the lasik and not go thru the turmoil. I was thinking of getting it because I need readers for shooting but the FDA has only approve the device in the non dominant eye.
