5PM to 9PM
$195
The class dates are specifically selected to ensure there is minimal ambient light from the moon. This allows us to control the lighting for each exercise all the way down to near total darkness. We'll have night sights and weapon mounted lights for students to try out as well as a variety of light sources.
The evening will start out in the classroom with a safety briefing and a class on techniques for shooting at night. We'll then move to our private range where we'll go through some warm up shooting exercises and then a number of other drills including: shooting on multiple targets, shooting from cover, shooting from multiple positions, shooting around a vehicle, emergency reloads, and weapon malfunction clearing.
Topics that will be covered in the class include how the eye functions in darkness, ways to maximize your night vision, weapon mounted lights, night sights, lasers, flashlight selection, positions for shooting while holding a flashlight, and use of shadows for concealment.
Mandatory Prerequisite: NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home (PPOTH) or NRA Defensive Pistol Course Certificate. Other acceptable training: FL G License; sworn law enforcement (current and past), USCCA, SAF, and Rangemaster. If you did not take PPOTH or Defensive Pistol at our training center, you will be required to provide us with a copy of your certification. We will also accept other comparable training that specifically includes holster work on a case by case basis; email us before signing up. (Concealed carry classes DO NOT qualify, only advanced training that is 8+ hours of drawing and firing 100+ rounds from a holster.)
