Note--the Feds had a search warrant for the property generally. They did NOT have a court order directing Liberty to supply the "back door" code--that would be something altogether different.

Liberty has disabled comments unless they follow you--not surprising given the way they were getting roasted.

Twitter court. LOL
When everything that comes out of your piehole is politics, politics, politics... YOU have a problem
They were seriously ratioed before they shut it down. It is going to cost them dearly.
I seriously hope so.
Knee-jerk "cooperation" with LE among "conservatives" should have died back during the abuses of the Clinton Administration. I guess some people could have relapsed after 9/11, but given the events of 2020 onward, absolutely everyone on the right to any degree should realize that LE of all kinds (with the exception of some local departments away from the commie areas) are completely hostile to you and your values. This goes for all feds, 100%--they have been completely captured. Some individual agents perhaps not, but they take orders or else. Completely untrustworthy on that basis.

anyone that thinks their home safe can't be cracked by the cops is delusional. At best, your safe is just a speedbump
Of course--but that should be YOUR decision to open it and avoid possible damage (they'll just cut it if they have to), not Liberty's. They should not be in the LE "cooperation" business.Mannlicher wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 1:41 pm anyone that thinks their home safe can't be cracked by the cops is delusional. @tector 1000% in agreement with you.
Which safe company doesn't do this?
Without a court order directing them to? Good question. Maybe this incident will flush out the answer. For that alone it would be useful.

The bigger question is why? What does Liberty think it gains from bending the knee to the FBI or any LEO for that matter? It isn't anti-cop to say that people and companies should make it as hard as possible for LEO to get information about anyone and their activities, even if they are probably hiding something nefarious. History proves that government will take hundreds of miles when given an inch.
