They should have switched to the 509 MRD, so they could at least put a RDS on it once it gets authorized

It's a
training issue, not a pistol issue. This same agency switched from Glocks back in 2017 after a Deputy had an uncommanded discharge with his issued Glock. They should be concentrating on teaching better weapon handling discipline rather than switching duty guns every few years.

Yeah, but when you have access to taxpayer money with no common sense applied, might as well burn it up. What do I win?

I thought I had replied to this thread already?
Anyway, it is a training issue with their Officers, not an issue with the P320. They had a similar discharge back in (IIRC) 2017 with Glock and switched away from Glock at that time rather than address the training issue. Constantly changing issued weapons when a problem comes up isn't a sound strategy.
So far Sig is batting 1000 on the P320 and the 'gun went off by itself' crowd is striking out i.e. Officers disciplined and/or terminated for mishandling their pistol and/or lying about it under investigation.

"which will cost about $136,000 for 370 guns and holsters"
I just want to know where I can pick up an FN509 and positive retention holster for $367.57?
