Vero Beach or Sebring gun shows worth a damn?

Post by tector »

I have a friend coming into town on the weekend on January 18-19, and he likes to go to gun shows. But that weekend there really aren't any down here. There's the tiny Palm Beach Arms Collectors show (which I like on its own terms, and have sold there myself years ago), but I think he'd want something bigger.

But he's a road-tripper type of guy, so there are two possibilities not TOO far away:

Vero Beach, Patriot Productions show at the Indian River Fairgrounds; and
Sebring, Great American show at the Highlands County Fairgrounds.

Are either of these decent (by which I mean a mix of new and used guns)? Any info on the usual number of tables?

The only other option is Orlando, which involves quite a bit more driving. I have been to that show, it's fine, but probably it's a bit too far. Probably.

Thanks for any insights.

The Lakeland Gun Show is 01/18 - 01/19. There's not a better show in Florida anymore that I can think of.

Man, it's been years since I have been to that show. It might be a bit far for our allotted time that day, but it might work. Thanks for the great suggestion. I hope your recovery is progressing. I know it is going to be a long haul, but it is just a one day at a time type of thing.

Recovery from this is going to be months, not weeks. I really wished I could go to this show. Maybe next year

Yeah, I thought that would be the case. It's 3 times a year still? Maybe the September one (if that was the right month).

I had a hip replacement 4 weeks ago today. Still a ways to go, but I am hoping I can do full-size gun show by mid-January.

Veros a good show. Melbourne is so so. Sebrings pretty good. I’ll actually be at Sebring. My business will be at vero as well but I won’t personally be there.

Coincidentally, today I walked the Miami gun show (about 2 hours, including a lot of just standing of course). So, progress.

Thanks for the feedback, Matt. I'll let my friend know.
