Will this one was a doozy. So I went to a lgs Tuesday in Crossville. Tn. O was there just to pick up a new take down pin for my sons new m&p 10.mm. while waiting I was looking through the usuals boxes of holsters and mags I did not find anything. As I stood up though I got pretty dizzy. I fell over. Hit my head on thFriday. e display.. fast forward to this morning. Which I am still thinking Is Tuesday but it's actually Friday. Hmmmm. I am confused. Come to find out that there was an 8 inch screw sticking out of that display..I caught it in my right eye and it traveled up into my brain. Fast forward now a few days. Through the hazy quick ambulance ride and intubation at the lz. The quick helicopter ride to erlanger memorial. Even through the now legendary and exciting intubation to the even more exciting self extubation. I guess i was not willing to remain intubated regardless of their wishes.. lol.. i am now awake and much calmer. And lighter by one eye. Yes ni have lost my right eye completely. Wife is fairly calm given the circumstances and that she thought I was going digesting..to kill someone. It appears as though I am going to be here some time. Make a long story short and probably easier to read. It is an ordeal I could live wit mego home..hout. I am considering which eye patch would be best. An item i am l open to at this point. Sounds like at least another week herein chattanooga before they even will consider sending me home

JFC, that sound horrendous! I can't imagine what you must feel like after all that. Try... I know how hard it must be... to be calm and listen to the staff.

On the upside, Halloween just became easier.

WOW! Just WOW! Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

When balance starts to go.... Mine got marginal a while back in my 60s. My wife took my ladder away; she knows I'm an accident looking for someplace to happen.

Good Lord, sounds truly awful. Between you and George we have too many... mature...FSNers tempting the fates.

Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery. And a good wife is an invaluable thing. There you are blessed.

Holy cow! I bet you traumatized a few folks in the LGS!! I hope your recovery is as speedy and complete as possible given the circumstances.

Will that was an exciting trip home. Surprisingly little pain and ik hope it stays that way. I am thinking of having my sons 3d print a mechanical eyepatch with led lights. I can now be the i used to be a terminator.

After all this the love of my life for 40 years has been great take care of them guys. They will provide much needed care.

My shooting days are over for that eye anyway. The parkinson's has trashd away most of the fun anyway. So now I have to become a master class with my left eye and hand with parkinson's. Yeah I know but i am forever am optimist. Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. It meant s lot to see some of us still connect at that level and says s lot.

Now I can take some real meds. Lol

Think I qualify for weed now? JK. That stuff never did more than make me chatty. A good conversation can do that a lot frigging cheaper. The doctors are amazed i have done so well.

Several of the techs mentioned i should sue that local gun store. Not sure yet how i feel about it. I don't know that it was entirely their fault. On one hand an 8 Inch screw sticking out was a little much. On the other hand falling on it and impaling it into your brain is a kind of fantastic one off. Suing just makes money for the attorney's. I would not turn down a free or highly discounted left hand bolt action long gun. Lol.

I had a new CT scan this morning and they said most of oid the blood had drained. That is great news as the screw has missed almost all of the major vessels and regions. Oh well. Now I have pt ot and the 3rd type of nurse I can't remember coming 3 days a week. 2 of them i like a they are friendly a well as professional. The one gal is Helga the pain mistress. She does the job but it hurts. Which is her job mind you and the correct thing to do but she does make it hurt.

Practice weak hand shooting guys you never know when you may need it. In this case due to the stroke and seizure it would not have made a difference as I was blind immediately and unconscious within 2 minutes. But in other circumstances it could have ended badly.

Time for a nap.
