It is insane that the female officer is pulling the gun out by the trigger.
https://get-asp.com/zji5 UPDATE: The deputy who shot this man has since been fired and JCSO has implemented a policy prohibiting them from removing firearms that are lawfully carried by motorists during traffic stops.

She deserves more than termination. She was reckless and stupid too. Toss in an Aggravated Assault charge followed up with being personally sued in addition to the department paying up. I'm willing to bet her personnel file will show she was sub-standard as being pulled along.

Yeah, no charges and she keeps her credentials and goes to another department.

If you get pulled and they want to disarm say you have a Sig P320 and they will call the bomb squad and demand you remove it while they hide behind shields

If I have bad intent towards a cop, I'm not going to tell him I have one. I had FHP take my gun once, and it was just stupid.

One of FSN's longtime members who is LEO once told me that he dislikes being told someone is armed during a traffic stop because it complicates what should be a simple interaction. Incidents like this and the one in Minnesota where a cop killed a CCL needlessly cement my reluctance to say anything. I've already used up any goodwill from the Reaper. He won't give me another pass any time soon.

I have been pulled over a couple of times in last 30 years or so armed. Never told the officer I was armed and never had a problem. Of course I was never asked to exit the vehicle (just speeding or doing something considered reckless), if you have no bad intent, just comply and keep your mouth shut.

Last time I got pulled over, probably 15 years ago, was in Lee County. I handed the officer my license and CWL, as the instructor in the license course years earlier told the class to do. He told me to keep my hands on the wheel. No issues. I think under the current, permitless carry environment, the best thing might just be keep one’s mouth shut and hands where the officer can see them. The trouble can arise in other states, whether reciprocal with CWL or if they are permitless as well, and their laws require officer notification.
My CWL expires in May and, despite the legitimate reasons for keeping one, I may just cruise on the permitless. At my ancient age, I’ll likely not be traveling outside of FL anyway (maybe GA, too) and the “shut mouth” would be the way to go.

Just remember, no CWP means you have the 3-5 day “cooling off period” to get a gun from a FFL. GARY
